DAILY REPORT: The
weather beautiful. Sunny and warm. 84 deg max.
This was our rest day. First thing
in the morning we thanked
the owner of Spring Creek Ranch for providing us two days of lodging. It is my
understanding that Spring Creek Ranch is ranked in the top 500 hotels in the
country. We would agree!! We were then off into town to drop off James and
my bike to take care of some funny noise emanating from the crank area and
headsets. We were recommended to see Hoback Sports. Fortunately they were
able to squeeze our bikes in and turn them around in an afternoon. A special
tanks to the owner, Hernandez. He has a great store!
We
also stopped by the laundry mat to do a week's worth of laundry. While we were
there we unpacked and repacked the trailer. This was a good thing except for the
location Skip had parked the car/trailer. We had the local police officer stop
by because he had a complaint we were interfering w/ traffic. He was very good
natured about everything and decided not to give Skip a citation :) We quickly
repacked the maining items and moved our vehicle.
We also stopped by to visit
Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce. In fact as
we drove into the plaza for laundry, Heather from the chamber recognized our
vehicle and said hi. We went over to her office to personally thank her for
helping us get lodging accommodations for two nights. Thanks Heather your a real
sweetheart!!
The rest of the day we explored
downtown Jackson, did a little window shopping, grocery shopping and I got a
much needed hair cut.
We head back to the resort so that
I could do some computer work and the kids could hang out at the pool. John met
several international ladies who worked at the resort and played a little
tennis.
We did a little bike maintenance.
Since we had over 1,000 miles on the tires we rotated them. The wear ration is
aprox 4 to 1 for the rear to front tire. By rotating them we should maximize
their life.
Spent the rest of the evening
working on the computer.
Thanks for joining
us.....ride
safely!!

Jackson Hole is known for
the city center's four corners with these elk horn arch ways. They are
really cool!!

Working on the bikes. It's
important to keep them well maintained for a trip like this.
